Twitterati exploded and poured blessings on Alex Carey for his exceptional fightback innings against South Africa at Manchester. Carey was absolutely brilliant against spin that kept Australia's hopes up until the very end of the match that went on to the last over before the Kangaroos fell short.

Alex Carey is brilliant and he is particularly brilliant against spin. He scores at +1.28 runs per over above expectation against the slower bowlers. The only Australian ODI batsmen since 1999 with a higher True Run Rate v spin than him are Maxwell, Gilchrist & Finch.
