Wriddhiman Saha all set to return to competitive cricket after shoulder injury

Wriddhiman Saha will make a comeback to the competitive cricket via this year's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy after a deadly shoulder injury kept him out of the circuit for almost a year now. The wicket-keeper batsman was on rehab at the NCA following shoulder surgery in August last year.
Largely seen as a long term aspect for the Test Team, Wriddhiman Saha has been grappling with injuries for a long time now. He hasn't played any cricket since May 25, 2018, which was an IPL fixture between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. Being much eager to make a comeback after having missed the game for almost a year now, Saha has also expressed interest in playing club cricket if the Cricket Association of Bengal allows him.
"I'm very close to 100 per cent. I will play the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. I'm returning to Kolkata after February 15 and will join the Bengal team's conditioning camp on February 16 or 17," Saha said in an interaction with TOI.
Bengal's coach-cum-mentor Arun Lal also expressed his delight over the prospects of Saha's return. He said the team is hopeful to see the keeper-batsman recovering in quick time and join domestic cricket again.
"We are aware of that (Saha's lack of game time). But he is such a big cricketer, we are hoping that he will be able to make the adjustments very quickly," Lal said.
The Wicket Keeper-Batsman has aggregated 1164 runs at an average of 30.63 from 32 Tests with 3 Centuries under his belt.
