On Day 2 of the second Ashes Test, England once again lost their top order early, as they ended up getting bowled out for 258. Rory Burns was looking good but failed to convert, but it was Chris Woakes who once again taught the 'batsmen' a lesson, and the Twitterati reacted on the same.
Woakes has been outstanding tonight!!
Perhaps I am naive but why can Chris Woakes, our number 8 batsmen, average 35 over the first three innings of this series and Root, Stokes, Bairstow and Buttler can't? I know that those four are great batsmen but they're so inconsistent in test matches!
β Vincent Masterson (@VMEconomics)
Was it done intentionally??
Pat Cummins hits Chris Woakes on the helmet with a fast bouncer and gets his wicket in the same over. Proper hostile fast bowling. Test cricket at it's best. π₯

Maybe it was done to disturb his concentration
Now they have worked out how to get our best batsman Chris Woakes out we are doomed.

Ah, quality show at Lord's
Chris Woakes is an excellent cricketer but as soon as you show a quality test match opponent your weakness, you're gonna get a severe test!!

He was leading England from the front!

β Matt Prested (@MattPrested)
Probably a much-needed contribution for England!!
Chris Woakes is all of a sudden one of the first names on the team sheet, if not the first. Bats, bowls and fields brilliantly.
β Jack Pearson (@JackTPearson)
Oh no, what can I say for this!! Hahahaha
At Lord's no one has performed better then Chris Woakes.
