IPL 2019 | Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu need to fire for Chennai Super Kings, feels Ajit Agarkar

Ajit Agarkar feels that Chennai Super Kings need Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu to fire in the business end of the tournament, which will ease off the pressure on Shane Watson. Both Raina and Rayudu have been hot and cold in recent times which have affected CSK’s run massively.

Chennai Super Kings have had a mixed run in the second leg of the tournament and have lost two out of their three last games. CSK have dominated the points table most of the times this season but their recent form has been worrisome for their fans.

Their batting has collapsed and star players Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu have failed to garner big runs like they famously did in previous editions. While Shane Watson has started finding some rhythm, but the middle-order looks vulnerable. Former Indian bowlers Ajit Agarkar has said that Rayudu and Raina are two important players and need to fire.

“They have real worries if Raina and Rayudu don’t play well, coz those two are really important players. If they keep failing, there is too much pressure on Watson, he might not have a great season himself, but in that one innings, he looked like getting back in form. Now he has to start worrying about holding an innings together. The middle order needs to perform better,” Agarkar said, reported ESPNCricinfo.

CSK have already qualified for the playoffs, but have a golden chance of finishing at top two if they manage to win the reaming two games of the league stages.
