Delhi Capitals have roped in left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith as a replacement for injured pacer Harshal Patel for the rest of the 12th season of the IPL. Patel had sustained a fracture in his right hand while playing for the Capitals against Kings XI Punjab earlier in the tournament.

After Harshal Patel was ruled out of the entire season, the Delhi Capitals management has decided to bring in the Karnataka slow left-armer Jagadeesha Suchith to replace the Haryana seamer. Suchith is making a comeback in the league after some good performances for his home state of Karnataka which won the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy just before the commencement of the IPL earlier this year.

“Jagadeesha Suchith has signed with the Delhi Capitals as a replacement for the injured Harshal Patel for the remainder of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019,” stated an IPL press release.

The 25-year-old spinner had earlier represented Mumbai Indians in the cash-rich league and has picked up 10 wickets in 14 matches. He last played in the league back in the year 2016 and is also a handy batsman lower down the order. The left-armer scalped 10 wickets in 12 T20 games in the previous season with an economy rate of less than seven per over.

Delhi Capitals will meet Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next game of the IPL on Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
