VIDEO | Virat Kohli’s stunning under-arm flick from awkward angle sends Powell packing

After a rare failure with the bat, Virat Kohli decided to show his quality on the field and was in no mood to let a single opportunity go begging. When he found a ball at short extra cover, it was the time for him to grab the opportunity as he managed to hit the stumps with a reverse underarm throw.

It was one of those days everything fell in place for India. Starting from a Rohit Sharma century to Khaleel Ahmed experiment getting positive results to Rohit grabbing catches at slip, it was a good day-out for India at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. To complement everyone’s effort, Kohli, who had a rare off day with the bat, pulled off a stunner on the field.

In the sixth over of the run-chase, Marlon Samuels defended it from the crease to extra cover. The Indian skipper immediately charged in towards the ball after seeing slight hesitation between both the batsmen. There was actually never a run on offer, but Kieran Powell was already halfway down the track and had no chance of returning back to his crease.

Kohli sensed the chance there and with an under-arm flick, he hit the stumps directly despite his body was in the other angle. It was a terrific throw and shows how much of concentration Kohli has as a player.
