Virat Kohli is on the verge of crossing yet another record as he stands 186 runs away from Sachin Tendulkar's record of 1573 runs against Windies that include four centuries. The third and the fourth on the list are Rahul Dravid (1348) and Sourav Ganguly (1142) respectively.

All the claims of Virat Kohli leapfrogging Sachin Tendulkar in terms of numbers are no more claims but a truth waiting to happen. The Indian skipper's later exploit would be to become the highest run-getter against the Windies, which is currently being held by Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli is shy of only 187 runs ahead of the five-match ODI series to become the joint-highest run-getter against the once fierce opponent.

Tendulkar had played a total of 39 ODI’s against Windies in his career spread over 2 decades, where he had amassed 1573 runs at an average of 52.73, including 4 centuries and 11 half centuries. Kohli, on the other hand, has played 27 ODI’s against Windies having a total of 1387 runs at an average of 60.30. He has 4 ODI centuries and 9 half centuries against Indies in his play.

The third man on the list is Dravid with a total of 1348 runs in 40 matches at an average of 42.12, including 3 centuries and 8 fifties. The fourth is Ganguly with a total of 1142 runs in 27 match and 11 half ODI centuries at an average of 47.58. These four men are in fact the 4 batsmen who have scored 1000 plus against West Indies in the ODIs.
