Trent Bridge have announced that entry to the final day of England’s third Test against India is now free after they faced extreme criticism for charging fans £10 for a session that could last just one ball. They have admitted that they got it wrong and all current ticket holders will be refunded.

A late collapse on the fourth day left England on 311 for nine. However, England’s tailenders, Adil Rashid and James Anderson, managed to take the third Test into the fifth and final day as the visitors were unable to pick the final wicket. India, who require just one wicket to move 2-1 down in the five-match Test series, would be looking forward to finishing the match as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Nottinghamshire came under fire on Tuesday night for their £10 charge, though they did offer a concession of £5 for juniors. In total around 2,000 fans had bought tickets in advance.

However, the county realized its mistake and turned to Twitter to announce that the ticket holders will be refunded and the admission will be free on the gate with donations collected for charity.
