IPL 2018 | RCB vs CSK match shrouded with possibilities of rain

Rain could be a real spoiler in the highly-anticipated match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings with the weather forecast predicting rain and thundershowers in the evening. Virat Kohli wouldn’t want any such hindrance now when his side is just getting back to winning ways.

Bangalore has been experiencing cloudy skies and occasional showers for the last two days, which, though, is a good relief from the scorching summer would be a hindrance on Wednesday’s high-octane face-off between RCB and MS Dhoni-led CSK.

While Chennai have been in their usual consistent self, winning four of the opening five matches, RCB have experienced a start-stop season so far. They have won twice in as many games as CSK with their last match coming in an emphatic win over Delhi Daredevils, where AB de Villiers pulled the team to victory for the second time this season.

Sitting in the sixth position with two points behind Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, Virat Kohli wouldn’t want the match to end in a draw with the points divided apiece. CSK, though winning of late, have left most of the games to the very last over and is suffering from an injury-plagued side. Hence, Kohli would surely want to capitalize on the chance.

A shortened format would also be agreeable to both the side, although we would hope that the Duckworth Lewis method doesn’t make the game one-sided as was the case in the match between KKR and Kings XI Punjab.
