39 Indian players were sold in the auction for the IPL 2017, the 10th edition of the tournament. Karn Sharma was signed for Rs. 3.2 crore, the most by an Indian player in this auction, by Mumbai Indians while Tamil Nadu pacer T Natarajan was bought for Rs. 3 crore by Kings XI Punjab.

Twitterati had a field day as the auction had so many surprises. They did not spare Ishant Sharma after he set a price of 2 Crores and went unsold. The same people felt bad for Irfan Pathan - Pawan Negi was sold for 1 Crore when Pathan couldn't find a team. The day kept throwing surprises as many newbies were sold for more than 1 Crore!
