WATCH | Jos Buttler scoops Ben Stokes for a six!

One of the features of the IPL is that it pits compatriots against each other. Last night Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes turned out for Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant respectively. And Buttler clearly didn’t care about Stokes' Rs 14.5 crores price tag as he scooped him for a six in Pune.

Buttler opened the Mumbai innings with Parthiv Patel and got the side off to a flyer, forcing Steve Smith into hurried bowling changes. Smith gave the ball to Stokes in the fourth over and the New Zealand-born all-rounder ran into compatriot Buttler for the first time in a T20 game.

After two dot balls, Buttler deposited Stokes for six over long-on and followed it up with an outrageous scoop shot over the keeper’s head which also went the distance. Buttler’s shot showed little concern for Stokes’ reputation or his price tag. Buttler ended with 38 off 19 balls, as Mumbai finished at 184/8. but it wasn’t enough to stop Pune from winning by 7 wickets.
