Kejriwal forms committee to probe DDCA irregularities

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday constituted a two-man committee to probe into alleged financial irregularities at the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

The two-member committee is constituted of the Secretaries of Sports and Urban Development and will submit its findings within 48 hours. "The two-member committee has been asked to submit its report to the Chief Minister by Saturday," an unnamed official was quoted as saying by the Hindu.

The move comes on the heels of a visit to the Chief Minister by cricketer Gautham Gambhir to reportedly discuss the state of the DDCA.

Former India spinner Bishan Singh Bedi also had voiced concern over the proceedings at the cricket body and is learnt to have shared documentary evidence, including financial records of the DDCA corroborating the claims, according to the official, reported the Hindu.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had recently initiated a probe on the above charges against some DDCA officials.
